Working with the ring light

The shape of the ring light and the light source enables even illumination of faces and objects. When used as a continuous light, it is possible to create portraits with a wide-open aperture, macro shots and factual product shots. The light cast can be assessed immediately, so even beginners are able to achieve professional results. Due to the light fall-off towards the back, the ring light creates an extraordinary plasticity that is characteristic. The popularity of this portrait lighting method is undisputed. Make sure that the aperture is open as far as possible and correct details with the ISO setting on your camera.

Our ring lights are embedded in the housing in such a way that the beam pattern is optimally aligned for photographic purposes. A highly reflective inner coating ensures maximum light output.

  Glare From LED Lights and Eye Damage
  
• If people or animals look directly into an LED light source, the optical radiation from LED light pockets can dazzle your eyes and result in afterimages. This may cause accidents or damage to your eyes.
  
• Ensure that people or animals do not look directly into the light sources.
  Risk of injury and fire hazard if device falls or tips over.
  
• Ensure that your device is always carefully assembled so that it does not fall over and make sure that it is stored safely.
  
• Keep the device out of reach from children and animals. They could knock over the device.
  
• The cables can be a trip hazard, therefore, make sure that are clearly visible to avoid accidents. This could cause the device to fall or tip over.
  Risk of Fire and an Electric Shock Due to a Short Circuit
  A short circuit can be caused by defective cables and water damage. In the event of a short circuit, the conductor cables can become too hot, and as a result their insulation will melt, or the cables will melt. This may cause a fire.

• Do not touch the device with wet or damp hands or feet.
  
• Only use the device indoors and in a dry room.

  Risk of Electric Shock and Burns
  When the device is switched off, it is still connected to the mains. By unplugging your device, you can disconnect it from the main power supply.

• Make sure that the device is fully switched off and cannot be switched on by accident.

  Fire Hazard Due to Overheating
  Any accessories for the device can overheat if they are not used correctly or as described in the instructions. Objects and highly flammable materials may start to burn if they get too close to the device.

• Replace bulbs immediately that are damaged or due to heat have become misshapen.
  
• Keep any easily flammable materials away from your device.
  Risk of Burns
  The light source can get as hot as 90 °C.
  
• Do not touch these parts of the device when it is in use or cooling down.
  
• Allow the device to cool down completely before carrying out any repair work.
  Risk of personal injury due to broken light sources, possible discolouration due to burn marks on the light sources
  Light sources can break if they fall or tip over. Even a small amount of skin grease residue on the flash tube can cause it to burst due to the heat that is generated when it is on. Glass splinters can cause injuries to your eyes and skin.
  
• Be careful not to break the bulbs when handling them.
  
• Do not touch the flash tube with your bare hands. Only touch the lower plastic part of the bulb or you will need to use a clean cloth or wear a clean pair of gloves.
  
• Take care not to accidentally touch the flash tube when fitting or replacing any camera accessories.
  
• Only use light sources that comply with EN 60357 sheet 3155.
