Polarising Filter – Fantastic Colours and Fewer Reflections
Polarising filters are still one of the most commonly used filters in photography. The Walimex pro Circular Polarising Filter only allows light of a certain vibration plane to pass through, while other types of light rays will be filtered. This effectively reduces reflections on glass, water surfaces or paintwork. At the same time, polarising filters increase colour saturation and significantly enhance contrast. Objects behind glass, such as in shop windows or car windows, will be much clearer. When taking landscape photos, the polarising filter is most effective at an angle of 90⁰ to the sun. It is also recommended to use a focal length of 35 or 28 mm to ensure even lighting.
Preventing Autofocus Problems with Polarising Filters
Circular and linear polarising filters work in a similar way, but in contrast to linear polarising filters, circular polarising filters have an additional lambda/4 plate. The built-in Lambda/4 plate ensures that the linear light rays created in the polarising filter are broken down and are at an angle of 90⁰ to each other. This prevents autofocus problems that often occur with linear polarising filters.
Protective Cover
The circular polarising filter features a high-quality glass lens. The glass lens is fixed into a robust metal frame. It is very easy to rotate and fix into position. In addition, the lens filter comes with a protective cover that protects it from UV rays and also getting damaged.
