Professional Boom for Photo Studios

Robust Boom Stand for Photography and Videography Equipment

The Walimex pro Deluxe Telescopic Boom offers a load capacity of 4 - 8 kg (depending on the length) and you can securely attach studio flash heads, video lights, softboxes and other photography accessories. The telescopic arm made of sturdy poles have diameters of 35 and 32 mm and they can be extended from 120 cm to 220 cm.

360° Rotatable

The sturdy metal bracket is suitable for light stands and poles with a diameter of 22 to 35 mm. The plastic inserts will protect your stand from getting scratched. The boom can be rotated up to 360°, which enables you to find the perfect position for your photography equipment. This boom is a fantastic choice for both overhead lighting and backlighting.

Even Weight Distribution

The telescopic arm is equipped with a weight bag that can be attached to a snap hook. This bag can be filled with six one-litre bottles to create a weight of up to 6 kg. For a higher weight you can fill the bottles with sand or other weights can also be used. This will ensure an even weight distribution to stop your boom from tipping over.

Ideal for Overhead Lighting

The boom arm is ideal for studio flash heads, LED lights, microphones, reflectors, softboxes, umbrellas and photography backdrops. With a variable working height, it can be used to create a wide variety of lighting effects. This boom arm is also ideal for low level lighting or for overhead lighting.

Compatible with Light Stands

This boom has an adapter with a 5/8” spigot (16 mm pin) and 1/4” and 3/8” threads. The bracket is compatible with light stands such as the Walimex pro WT-806 Lihght Stand (256 cm, with a 6 kg load capacity) or the AIR Light Stand (355 cm, with an 8 kg load capacity).

Safety Instructions

  • Feature Download the full set of the instructions before setting up and using your device.
  • Feature Carefully read through the full set of instructions before using your product for the first time. The instructions include all the important information that you will need to know about the product in order to avoid injuries and damage to your possessions.
Risk of Injury Due to Improper Use
  • Feature Be careful not to trap your fingers in the struts on the tripod legs when folding your tripod.
  • Feature Please note that lamp tripods must be set up on a sufficiently strong, level surface to ensure maximum stability and load-bearing capacity.
  • Feature Please follow the safety information in the manual regarding the maximum load capacity for your tripod.
  • Feature Please note that the specified load capacity applies to any equipment that is placed in the middle of the tripod. Depending on the equipment used, the maximum load capacity may differ from the specified maximum load. When using a boom, it is recommended to use suitable counterweights.
  • Feature Please note that moisture can damage the parts on the middle column, and this may reduce the holding force and the parts on the centre column can start to slope downwards under heavy loads. Therefore, if necessary, dry the parts on the centre column with a soft, absorbent cloth (e.g. made of cotton).
  • Feature After using your tripod for a long period of time, you may have to tighten the screws on the tripod clamps. Not enough tension reduces the maximum holding force of the tripod. Make sure that the clamps are tight, but do not tighten them too much. If the torque is too tight, the parts on the centre column may no longer be able to be extended properly.
  • Feature When adjusting the centre column with mounted equipment, for your own safety and to protect the installed equipment, make sure that you hold the centre column with one hand while loosening the locks before loosening the tripod locks.
  • Feature Do not move a loaded tripod with an extended centre column. You should only move it very carefully by holding it and gently pushing it. When heavy camera equipment is fitted onto a tripod and the large centre column has been extended, this can quite often cause a very sudden leverage effect. The lamp tripod has a top-heavy design when camera equipment has been fitted onto the top, therefore, be careful that it does not tip over and damage any camera equipment or cause any injuries.
  • Feature When using heavy equipment, especially when the tripod has been fully extended, you may have to stabilise your tripod by adding weight to the legs. For this, we would recommend using special sandbags or tripod weights. These will ensure that your tripod is stable. You can also use safety ropes when using a tripod at different heights. They offer added stability for your tripod.
  • Feature Using tripod castors:
Always lock the castors into place when you are not moving your tripod.
