Ideal for Beauty and Portrait Photography
The Walimex pro Beauty Dish has been specially developed for portrait and beauty photography. Its unique design prevents the light from striking the model directly. Instead, a centrally positioned parabolic reflector directs the light into a generously sized light well. From there, it is reflected indirectly and evenly towards the subject. This creates a distinctive lighting effect: the light is harder in the centre, whilst becoming softer towards the edges. The result is a high-contrast spot with a gently fading, soft transition towards the outer edges.
Impressive Results
Professional photographers often use the Beauty Dish to take portraits with just a single light source and achieve impressive results in the process. For the best possible effect, the light shaper should be positioned as close as possible to the model. This enhances the light’s characteristics and creates a soft, natural glow around the eyes, making your photographs look particularly lively.
Optional Accessories
A diffuser (not included) can be easily fitted over the reflector. It further diffuses the light, making it appear even softer. A large honeycomb grid (not included) can be fitted onto the reflector as an optional accessory. This reduces stray light and directs the light more precisely onto the subject. The combination of reflector, honeycomb grid and diffuser creates a versatile set that offers maximum creative freedom in lighting design.
Compatible with a Wide Range of Flash Units
The Beauty Dish is suitable for all flashes and LED lights with a Bowens or Walimex pro mount. It is compatible with flash units from the Walimex pro VE, VC, Newcomer, Emerger, Campaigner and Stager series. This allows the light shaper to be flexibly integrated into your existing kit and used in a variety of ways.

During continuous light or flash operation, the softbox, mount and flash unit may become hot. Do not touch during or immediately after operation; allow to cool before disassembly.

Do not cover the softbox, do not block ventilation openings and keep a sufficient distance from flammable materials.

Risk of falling/tipping

Improperly mounted light modifiers may detach or cause light stands to tip over. Only attach to compatible flash units, check safety pins and spigot/locking mechanisms, weight down the stand (sandbag), and adjust the tilt angle so the load remains above the center of gravity.

Risk of crushing

Rotating and locking mechanisms may create pinch points. Proceed carefully when adjusting and avoid trapping fingers.
