Product information "Walimex pro 650-1300mm 1:8-16 CSC telephoto lens for T2 - Manual focus, zoom telephoto lens for full format & APS-C sensor, all-metal mount, incl. storage bag & lens caps"

Huge zoom range for almost any telephoto application
With the Walimex pro 650-1300/8-16 DSLR T2, you get a very special lens. The structure of this full-frame format lens is that of a classic lens. However, the zoom function is not controlled by turning the housing. Instead, you simply pull the lens by hand to the appropriate length and thus to the desired focal length. A scale indicates the selected focal length and the corresponding aperture. The Walimex pro 650-1300/8-16 DSLR T2 is a manual sliding zoom lens.

T2 adapter for a wide range of cameras

The lens has a T2 connection and can therefore be attached to a wide range of cameras using an adapter (sold separately). Of course, the Walimex pro 650-1300/8-16 DSLR T2 can also be used on smaller sensors than full frame. This has the usual consequences, namely a corresponding crop factor and minimised vignetting. With the Walimex pro 2x converter (art. 12602), you can also double the focal length. With an APS-C sensor, for example, this gives you a focal length range of 1,950 to 3,900 mm!

Multi-coated glass lenses
The built-in glass lenses, 8 lenses in 5 groups, are multi-coated to achieve optimal imaging performance. The typical effects of such a beam path, such as chromatic aberration, are minimised. This lens has no built-in iris diaphragm; the exposure is controlled solely by the ISO and shutter speed of the camera. The relative aperture of 1:8.0 allows a bright viewfinder image when used outside.

Manual internal focusing
The focusing is done manually, with the focusing element located inside the lens. This means that the outer shape of the lens does not change when focusing, which is a great advantage when the lens is set up precisely on a tripod. The maximum aperture of the beam path means that you can work with maximum light output when focusing. The minimum focusing distance is only 5 metres, even at 1300 mm focal length.

Robust metal construction
The Walimex pro 650-1300/8-16 DSLR T2 is almost completely made of metal, and is therefore extremely sturdy. Nevertheless, it weighs just under 2 kg. A 360° rotatable tripod mount allows you to quickly switch between landscape and portrait mode. Of course, the lens can also be locked in all other positions. The camera and lens remain securely on the tripod even when the mount is open. The lens hood is also very sturdily made and screwed onto the lens. It can be removed.

Affordable alternative
The Walimex pro 650-1300/8-16 DSLR T2 offers respectable performance in its focal length class at a low price. As is well known, chromatic aberration increases at high focal lengths, but various software programs are available to help with reliable post-processing. Please note that you also need a sturdy tripod to be able to align your camera precisely and securely with this lens.

Safety Instructions

General notes:

  • Feature Download the full version of the operating instructions before setting up and using the item.
  • Feature Read the full version of the instruction manual carefully before using your product for the first time. It contains everything you need to know to avoid personal injury, environmental damage and damage to property.
  • Feature Carefully follow all the detailed safety instructions in the full operating instructions!
  • Feature Disposal instructions: Please dispose of the packaging and this product at the end of its service life in accordance with the laws applicable in your country.
  • Feature Choking hazard due to small parts: Keep the appliance and packaging material away from children and pets.

Danger of blindness and damage to the eyes
  • Feature Do not look directly at the sun or strong light through the lens. This can lead to blindness.
  • Feature Do not store the lens without the lens cap attached in a place exposed to direct sunlight, e.g. in a vehicle. Direct sunlight through the lens may be focused and cause a fire.
  • Feature Keep the lens out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in accidents or injuries.
    Precautions for use

  • Feature To use the lens safely, attach or remove it with the camera switched off.
  • Feature Take care not to touch or contaminate the contact point of the bayonet. If electronic signals are not transmitted smoothly between the camera and lens, this can lead to a malfunction.
  • Feature Do not apply excessive force to the lens attached to the camera. This may cause damage to the lens and/or camera.
  • Feature It is recommended to use a stable tripod. If a stable tripod is not used, it may collapse, causing damage to the camera and/or lens.
  • Feature If the lens is stored in a hot place, it may be damaged or deformed, which may affect its performance.
  • Feature Ensure that the lens does not come into contact with water or other liquids and store the lens in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  • Feature If the lens gets wet or if you use the lens with wet hands, this can lead to product failure, fire or electric shock.
  • Feature Avoid direct sunlight and do not store the lens with naphthalene or mothballs.
  • Feature Do not use the lens in a place with strong temperature fluctuations. In particular, if you bring a lens that has been cooled down in a cold place to a warm place, the humidity may concentrate on the outside or inside, resulting in defects or mold growth. In such a situation, store the lens in a special camera bag and do not take it out until the temperature of the lens has adjusted to the ambient temperature.
  • Feature If the surface of the lens is dirty, dust it off with a lens blower or a brush and wipe the lens with a clean, soft cloth (cleaning cloth, cotton cloth, etc.).
  • Feature When dusting or cleaning the lens, do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol or benzene, but rather ethanol or lens cleaner.
  • Feature Do not modify or alter the lens, as this may cause the camera to fail. Modified lenses invalidate all warranty claims and cannot be repaired.
