Product information "Walimex pro 650-1300mm 1:8-16 CSC telephoto lens for Nikon F - Manual focus, zoom telephoto lens for full-frame & APS-C sensor, all-metal mount, incl. storage bag & lens caps"
A classic with very good imaging performance. Despite its length of approx. 460mm, this telephoto lens is quite handy and light. The well-thought-out design (without built-in iris diaphragm) enables an excellent, colour-true and sharp image through the use of 8 lenses in 5 groups. The relative aperture of 1:8.0 allows a bright viewfinder image when used outside, even when photographing animals or details in the landscape.
The lens does not have a pre-selectable aperture: the maximum possible aperture is always available and the lens is also corrected for this, delivering its highest performance, which is not reduced by diffraction at the aperture blades. The initial aperture associated with the respective zoom range is engraved on the lens barrel for your information.
User benefit: The attached, 360° rotatable tripod mount allows for balanced mounting on a tripod and for changing from portrait to landscape format. The close-up limit of about 5m at 1300mm allows nature photographers to select exciting subjects.
The lens works in aperture priority or manual mode on most cameras. Please refer to your camera's operating instructions for more details.
T2 connection, user tip: The T2 adapter is screwed onto the optics, then the lens is locked to the camera. After loosening the small screws on the side of the T2 adapter, the lens can be ‘raised’ – the focal length marks are then aligned upwards. Retightening the screws reliably secures the optics and adapter.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A number of lens defects such as distortion, edge blurring or vignetting occur at the outer edges of the image.
If you use a lens designed for a full-frame format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This gives you maximum quality.
Additional post-processing time to correct lens defects is no longer necessary.
