Walimex pro 500/8.0 DSLR T2

A classic with very good imaging performance. Despite its length of approx. 300mm, this telephoto lens is quite handy and light. The design, which uses only 4 lenses in 4 groups, provides an excellent, colour-true and sharp image without any disturbing curvature of field. The relative aperture of 1:8.0 allows for outdoor use, including wildlife photography or landscape photography with a high level of detail.

The pre-set aperture allows you to set the desired aperture in advance – this is then adjusted from the widest opening to the pre-set value with a quick turn of the finger. Advantage: maximum brightness in the viewfinder when focusing, lightning-fast adjustment of the pre-set aperture for photography/filming.

The attached 360° rotatable tripod mount allows for balanced mounting on a tripod and for changing from portrait to landscape format.

The lens works with most cameras in aperture priority or manual mode. Please refer to your camera's manual for more details.

T2 connection: this lens can be used with many other cameras with the adapters available from us: Canon EOS, Canon FD, Nikon AF/MF, Olympus OM, Olympus 4/3, Olympus micro 4/3, Minolta AF, Minolta MD, Pentax, Leica R/SL, Praktica M42, Samsung, Sony Alpha

T2 connection, user tip: The T2 adapter is screwed onto the optics, then the lens is locked. After loosening the side screws on the T2 adapter, the lens can be ‘raised’ – the index for infinity or the depth of field marks can be aligned upwards. Retightening the screws reliably secures the optics and adapter.

Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor:

Save time in post-processing. A variety of lens defects, such as distortion, edge blurring or vignetting, occur at the outer edges of the image.
If you use a lens designed for full-frame on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This ensures maximum quality.
Additional post-processing time to correct lens defects is thus no longer necessary.

Tip: Doubling the focal length with the optional walimex 2x converter art. no. 1 2602, then gives the visual impression of a 16/1000mm or a 16/1500mm or even a 16/2000mm

  Danger of blindness and damage to the eyes
  
• Do not look directly at the sun or strong light through the lens. This can lead to blindness.
  
• Do not store the lens without the lens cap attached in a place exposed to direct sunlight, e.g. in a vehicle. Direct sunlight through the lens may be focused and cause a fire.
  
• Keep the lens out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in accidents or injuries.
  Precautions for use
  
  
• To use the lens safely, attach or remove it with the camera switched off.
  
• Take care not to touch or contaminate the contact point of the bayonet. If electronic signals are not transmitted smoothly between the camera and lens, this can lead to a malfunction.
  
• Do not apply excessive force to the lens attached to the camera. This may cause damage to the lens and/or camera.
  
• It is recommended to use a stable tripod. If a stable tripod is not used, it may collapse, causing damage to the camera and/or lens.
  
• If the lens is stored in a hot place, it may be damaged or deformed, which may affect its performance.
  
• Ensure that the lens does not come into contact with water or other liquids and store the lens in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  
• If the lens gets wet or if you use the lens with wet hands, this can lead to product failure, fire or electric shock.
  
• Avoid direct sunlight and do not store the lens with naphthalene or mothballs.
  
• Do not use the lens in a place with strong temperature fluctuations. In particular, if you bring a lens that has been cooled down in a cold place to a warm place, the humidity may concentrate on the outside or inside, resulting in defects or mold growth. In such a situation, store the lens in a special camera bag and do not take it out until the temperature of the lens has adjusted to the ambient temperature.
  
• If the surface of the lens is dirty, dust it off with a lens blower or a brush and wipe the lens with a clean, soft cloth (cleaning cloth, cotton cloth, etc.).
  
• When dusting or cleaning the lens, do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol or benzene, but rather ethanol or lens cleaner.
  
• Do not modify or alter the lens, as this may cause the camera to fail. Modified lenses invalidate all warranty claims and cannot be repaired.
