• Reportage and landscape wide-angle lens with 64° angle of view on the full-frame camera, suitable for full-frame and APS-C sensor, manual focussing
• Ultra bright with 1.4 aperture, closest focusing distance 0.30m, internal focussing
• A standard lens on the APS-C camera with 43° angle of view, together with an 85/1.4 a classic combination
• Very good image quality thanks to aspherical lenses and high-refractive index glass, robust and high-quality metal mount
• With built-in chip for controlling the aperture from the camera: Shutter speed / aperture programme automatic is possible. The EXIF data is also reported to the camera.
Product information "Walimex pro 35/1.4 DSLR compatible with Nikon F AE"
Versatile wide angle with high light intensity
The walimex pro 35/1.4 lens is the ideal focal length for reportage use, ready to shoot. Always the right combination in conjunction with an 85 mm: overview and detail. The outstanding advantage of the 35 mm is its freedom from distortion: it captures more of the image on the sensor, but without the typical wide-angle distortions or receding perspective. The very high aperture of 1.4 allows for up to three stops more than a standard vari-focal lens. The light intensity is also visible in the brightness of the viewfinder, which provides for reliable setting. The very shallow depth of field at maximum aperture makes it easier to set the focus precisely.
Internal focusing
The lens is equipped with internal focusing. Lens groups are shifted inside the lens, the length of the optics does not change, and the front mount does not rotate when focusing. Graduated and polarisation filters can therefore be easily attached (size 77mm).
Optical construction
12 lens elements in 10 groups testify to the enormous effort that has been made to achieve a very good optical performance. One lens is aspherically ground, 2 others have high refractive index glass. Despite the medium angle of view, hardly any aberrations are visible even at full aperture.
Built-in chip
A chip built into the lens enables you to work with automatic exposure or automatic programming. In addition, EXIF data such as aperture, ISO value or shutter speed are transferred.
Note: When using the lens on a Nikon autofocus DSLR, set the aperture ring on the lens to the smallest value, the aperture marked in red 22. Now a transfer of the EXIF data is ensured, the camera can now control the aperture directly in the modes shutter/aperture priority and program automatic. Focusing is done manually.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor:
Save time in post-processing. A variety of lens errors such as distortion, edge blurring or vignetting occur at the outer edges of the image.
If you use a lens designed for a full frame on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This ensures maximum quality.
Additional post-processing time to correct lens defects is no longer necessary.
General notes:
Download the full version of the operating instructions before setting up and using the item.
Read the full version of the instruction manual carefully before using your product for the first time. It contains everything you need to know to avoid personal injury, environmental damage and damage to property.
Carefully follow all the detailed safety instructions in the full operating instructions!
Disposal instructions: Please dispose of the packaging and this product at the end of its service life in accordance with the laws applicable in your country.
Choking hazard due to small parts: Keep the appliance and packaging material away from children and pets.
Danger of blindness and damage to the eyes
Do not look directly at the sun or strong light through the lens. This can lead to blindness.
Do not store the lens without the lens cap attached in a place exposed to direct sunlight, e.g. in a vehicle. Direct sunlight through the lens may be focused and cause a fire.
Keep the lens out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in accidents or injuries.
Precautions for use
To use the lens safely, attach or remove it with the camera switched off.
Take care not to touch or contaminate the contact point of the bayonet. If electronic signals are not transmitted smoothly between the camera and lens, this can lead to a malfunction.
Do not apply excessive force to the lens attached to the camera. This may cause damage to the lens and/or camera.
It is recommended to use a stable tripod. If a stable tripod is not used, it may collapse, causing damage to the camera and/or lens.
If the lens is stored in a hot place, it may be damaged or deformed, which may affect its performance.
Ensure that the lens does not come into contact with water or other liquids and store the lens in a dry, well-ventilated place.
If the lens gets wet or if you use the lens with wet hands, this can lead to product failure, fire or electric shock.
Avoid direct sunlight and do not store the lens with naphthalene or mothballs.
Do not use the lens in a place with strong temperature fluctuations. In particular, if you bring a lens that has been cooled down in a cold place to a warm place, the humidity may concentrate on the outside or inside, resulting in defects or mold growth. In such a situation, store the lens in a special camera bag and do not take it out until the temperature of the lens has adjusted to the ambient temperature.
If the surface of the lens is dirty, dust it off with a lens blower or a brush and wipe the lens with a clean, soft cloth (cleaning cloth, cotton cloth, etc.).
When dusting or cleaning the lens, do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol or benzene, but rather ethanol or lens cleaner.
Do not modify or alter the lens, as this may cause the camera to fail. Modified lenses invalidate all warranty claims and cannot be repaired.
