With the wide angle lens from Walimex pro, you are equipped for both video and photography without having to convert your camera in a time-consuming manner. The aperture can be adjusted steplessly, which minimises transitions in exposure. The aperture ring and focus ring are toothed and therefore optimised for use with focussing devices (follow focus systems). Lens for APS cameras!

Expressive and bright landscape shots

The Walimex pro 16/2.2 APS with a focal length of 16 mm is ideal for expressive landscape shots and as a reportage lens thanks to the large image angle and a high depth of field. The high f-stop of 1:2.2 enables a very good exposure time even in unfavourable light conditions and can therefore also be used excellently indoors. The focusing and the aperture setting are done manually. The minimum focusing distance is 20 cm.



Sophisticated optical construction for outstanding image quality

An elaborate optical construction with 13 multi-coated glass lenses, two of which are aspherical lenses, ensures particularly high imaging performance. Thanks to the use of ED glass, chromatic and aperture aberrations are corrected, so that no annoying colour fringes occur and image quality is significantly improved. The multi-coated lenses prevent reflections and thus make more light available to the image. In addition, the coating also increases the contrast and produces more brilliant colours.



Very high-quality workmanship

The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its elegant look. In addition to the high-quality optics, the removable lens hood, which prevents stray light from entering from the side and lens reflections, ensures optimal image results and further design options. The filter thread has a diameter of 77 mm.

Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor

Lenses developed for cameras with APS-C sensors can sometimes be used on cameras with a full-frame sensor (mainly when using an adapter).
Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, however, the edges appear black.
The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor.
The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. Using APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.

  Danger of blindness and damage to the eyes
  
• Do not look directly at the sun or strong light through the lens. This can lead to blindness.
  
• Do not store the lens without the lens cap attached in a place exposed to direct sunlight, e.g. in a vehicle. Direct sunlight through the lens may be focused and cause a fire.
  
• Keep the lens out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in accidents or injuries.
  Precautions for use
  
  
• To use the lens safely, attach or remove it with the camera switched off.
  
• Take care not to touch or contaminate the contact point of the bayonet. If electronic signals are not transmitted smoothly between the camera and lens, this can lead to a malfunction.
  
• Do not apply excessive force to the lens attached to the camera. This may cause damage to the lens and/or camera.
  
• It is recommended to use a stable tripod. If a stable tripod is not used, it may collapse, causing damage to the camera and/or lens.
  
• If the lens is stored in a hot place, it may be damaged or deformed, which may affect its performance.
  
• Ensure that the lens does not come into contact with water or other liquids and store the lens in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  
• If the lens gets wet or if you use the lens with wet hands, this can lead to product failure, fire or electric shock.
  
• Avoid direct sunlight and do not store the lens with naphthalene or mothballs.
  
• Do not use the lens in a place with strong temperature fluctuations. In particular, if you bring a lens that has been cooled down in a cold place to a warm place, the humidity may concentrate on the outside or inside, resulting in defects or mold growth. In such a situation, store the lens in a special camera bag and do not take it out until the temperature of the lens has adjusted to the ambient temperature.
  
• If the surface of the lens is dirty, dust it off with a lens blower or a brush and wipe the lens with a clean, soft cloth (cleaning cloth, cotton cloth, etc.).
  
• When dusting or cleaning the lens, do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol or benzene, but rather ethanol or lens cleaner.
  
• Do not modify or alter the lens, as this may cause the camera to fail. Modified lenses invalidate all warranty claims and cannot be repaired.
