The Samyang AF 12mm F2.0 E is the perfect wide-angle lens for astrophotography with APS-C sensors! The large angle of view of 99.1° allows you to capture entire constellations and large parts of the Milky Way. The fast maximum aperture of F2.0 allows use even in difficult light conditions, which is especially important for astrophotography.

Unique: Weather protection for all elements


This lens is the only one of this focal length for APS-C cameras that is equipped with weather protection. The so-called Samyang Weather Sealing allows you to capture great images even in adverse conditions. The rubber lips in the lens and around the mount prevent dust and water from entering, so you can work in snowfall and drizzle or in dusty environments without any problems.

Small, light and compact

Weighing only 213 g and measuring just 59.2 mm in length and 70 mm in diameter, the Samyang AF 12 mm F2.0 E is the ideal companion for exploring. It is 27% lighter and 27% shorter than comparable lenses, making it the lightest, most compact lens in its class. The filter thread has a diameter of 62 mm. The new, well-thought-out design promises a pleasant feel and makes it easier to use.

Fast and quiet autofocus

The autofocus in this lens is driven by a linear stepper motor (LSTM), which works quickly and quietly at the same time, delivering precise results. This means you are equipped for snapshots that require a precise point of focus, especially when the aperture is open. Video recordings with continuous focus tracking are therefore effortless and without the disturbing noises of a focus drive.

Minimal focus distance, extreme quality

The close-up limit of this lens is only 19 cm, which allows you to take pictures in confined situations and to focus on close objects. The lens comprises 12 elements arranged in 10 groups, each lens is multi-coated with Samyang's own Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). Special lenses include 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP), 1 aspherical lens (ASP) and 3 extra low dispersion glass lenses (ED) in the beam path. Thanks to the highest glass quality, images are always sharp from the centre to the edge. The aperture has 7 blades, which allows for 14-ray starbursts for radiant highlights.

• Do not apply excessive force to the lens attached to the camera. This may cause damage to the lens and/or camera.
  
• It is recommended to use a stable tripod. If a stable tripod is not used, it may collapse, causing damage to the camera and/or lens.
  
• If the lens is stored in a hot place, it may be damaged or deformed, which may affect its performance.
  
• Ensure that the lens does not come into contact with water or other liquids and store the lens in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  
• If the lens gets wet or if you use the lens with wet hands, this can lead to product failure, fire or electric shock.
  
• Avoid direct sunlight and do not store the lens with naphthalene or mothballs.
  
• Do not use the lens in a place with strong temperature fluctuations. In particular, if you bring a lens that has been cooled down in a cold place to a warm place, the humidity may concentrate on the outside or inside, resulting in defects or mold growth. In such a situation, store the lens in a special camera bag and do not take it out until the temperature of the lens has adjusted to the ambient temperature.
  
• If the surface of the lens is dirty, dust it off with a lens blower or a brush and wipe the lens with a clean, soft cloth (cleaning cloth, cotton cloth, etc.).
  
• When dusting or cleaning the lens, do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol or benzene, but rather ethanol or lens cleaner.
